Siri says

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard that Apple have released a new iPhone; the 4S. One of the features of the new phone is Siri, a voice controlled "personal assistant" to whom you can ask anything.

Apple have given Siri a sense of humor, today's link is to "Shit that Siri says" which shows screen captures of funny answers Siri has given.

Open-Surf

Are you outside of the United States and want to access a geo-restricted site?
Or maybe your ISP blocks some sites "to protect you"?

If so, you might like to check out open-surf, a free proxy site that gives you an easy way around these restrictions.  You simply go to open-surf.com using any browser, then enter the URL of the site you are trying to access where prompted within the open-surf site.

Open-Surf is based in the United States, so to any web site your traffic from within the free proxy appears to come from the US.

The site is supported by some large pop-up adds, so if you're going to be a regular user you might want to look at the $9.95 "private proxy" option.

Trove - search NLA

If you're researching any Australian history, a great resource is Trove (as in "a treasure trove") from the National Library of Australia.  A search on the site references old newspapers, photographs, books and even archived websites.

When the site finds a newspaper match to your search, it even isolates the article within the page and highlights your search words.

Vodafail

Are you a Vodafone customer, and not happy with your;

  • Network Coverage
  • Customer Service
  • Roaming Charges
  • Data cap
  • Monthly bill
Then you should check out the Vodafail website, set up by another disgruntled Vodafone customer.

Even if you're a Three Mobile customer with similar gripes, you should check out the site as well, because Three are owned by Vodofone and share a lot of their resources.
